Harry K. Sleicher passed away on April 9, 2024. He was born in Albany, New York in 1925. He was preceded in death by his wife Ruth (Townley Seaburg) Sleicher, his brothers Robert and Charles Sleicher, his first wife Sally Ann (Ruyter) Sleicher, and his son, Arthur Sleicher.

Harry attended Moses Brown School and graduated from Brown University with a degree in engineering, class of 1948.  He was a World War II veteran, having served in the Army Air Force.  His business career was spent in the foundry industry and he was a past president of the New England Foundry Association.

Harry was a man of great faith, and served as past senior warden of St. Barnabas Episcopal Church in Warwick, and was most recently a member of the First Baptist Church in Wickford.

He was also an active member of many service organizations, and was past president and zone chairman of the Johnston Lions Club, past commodore of the Wickford Yacht Club, and a former member of the East Greenwich Yacht Club. He had a passion for sailing, and sailed the waters of the New England coast, the Intracoastal Waterway, and the islands of the Caribbean. He also spent much of his leisure time at his summer camp on Cranberry Lake, NY, where he enjoyed hiking, canoeing, hunting and fishing.  

Harry is survived by his daughter Catherine Williams of Arizona, and two grandsons Michael Fisher of Michigan and Charles Fisher of California. He also leaves three great- grandchildren – Liam, Penelope, and Rowan Fisher.

His Memorial Service will be held Saturday, May 4, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. in The First Baptist Church in Wickford, 44 Main Street.  Interment will be private.

Calling Hours will be held Friday, May 3, 2024 from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. in THE CRANSTON-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME of WICKFORD, 140 West Main St., North Kingstown.  

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the First Baptist Church in Wickford.
